Review your policies

One of the biggest obstacles keeping staff from delivering a great customer experience are the policies and rules of the business.

Have you developed rules that protect the business from the few customers who might try to cheat you? Are your policies set to make life easier running the business? These often work against customers and make it very difficult for staff to treat your customers the way they would like to be treated.

Sit down with your staff. Ask them which rules and policies cause problems for your customers. Put yourself in your customers’ shoes and have a second look at the rules and policies you have developed.
