Look at their future worth

Don’t make the mistake of judging your customers’ worth to your business just based on their current level of business with you – look at what they could potentially be worth to you.

I once consulted for a large New Zealand bank and to experience what they were like, I opened an account. Nobody asked me if I had an account with another bank or any questions about my business or personal circumstances. The small amount I deposited
put me in their ‘coper’ category of customers and they virtually ignored me for the four years I kept the account open.

That was not the kind of experience that would ever have persuaded me to move the rest
of my business to them.
