Don’t leave it to chance

The reason most businesses provide a great experience one day and not the next is because it is left to chance. Providing a consistently great customer experience is the result of good management. Make sure everyone knows that creating an inspirational customer experience is your strategy to gain a competitive advantage.

Your top three priorities are to:

1. Tell staff exactly what kind of experience they need to provide. If you cannot define it, you will not be able to deliver it.

2. Make sure your policies and processes allow staff to deliver that kind of experience.

3. Measure whether your customers believe they are getting the experience you want them to have and feed this information back to your staff.
