Answer the phone quickly

If you are slow to answer the phone you will lose business. Research shows that if the phone is not answered within 20 seconds, 31% of customers hang up and ring a competitor and another 24% give up altogether.

Make sure your staff understand how important it is that the phone is answered quickly. Set a standard for phone answering and test it from time to time by phoning your own company.
